4. Will the public have an opportunity to identify their issues and concerns regarding the Steptoe Street Extension?
Yes. The Cities understand that the construction of the Steptoe Street Extension will affect citizens and businesses in the vicinity. The Cities have employed the services of CH2M HILL, a local consulting firm, to assist them during the planning phase of the project. CH2M HILL will conduct both neighborhood and general public meetings (see this website's homepage for upcoming meetings) to listen to the ideas, issues, and concerns of the public, and to assist the cities in planning a roadway shaped by those public comments. The Cities want to hear from their citizens. In addition to the meetings, a 24-hour call-in number (539-9035) and project website (www.steptoestreet.com) have been set up to receive your comments. Kennewick and Richland are committed to listening and responding to citizen suggestions. With the public's help, the Steptoe Street Extension project will result in a functional and aesthetically pleasing north-south roadway.
