8. Who owns the land, Kennewick or Richland; how much do they own?
The majority of land required for the Steptoe Street Extension is currently owned by the City of Kennewick and/or the City of Richland from Gage Blvd to 10th Avenue. No right-of-way acquisition will be required from the existing residential areas. A portion of the Steptoe Street Extension would be constructed within the existing right-of-way of Clodfelter Road between Clearwater Avenue and 10th Avenue. Some additional land for the right-of-way may need to be acquired by the Cities of Kennewick and/or Richland, south of the Kennewick Park and Meadow Springs area, depending on design decisions which will be made during this planning phase.
